There are three universities in Canberra that offer early entry programs and each university has a unique application system. Please see below.
Year 12 students can apply direct to the University through the 'Direct Entry Scheme'. Selection is based on Year 11 results. To be eligible for an ATAR free offer, applicants must:
- Complete Year 12 and achieve any ATAR.
- Meet course prerequisites.
- Meet co-curricular and service requirements.
Applications close Monday 13 May. If you miss the deadline, you can still apply for courses via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Applications open late July and selection will be based on your Year 12 results and ATAR.
Year 12 students can apply direct to the University through the 'ACU Guarantee' program. Selection is based on Year 11 results and you can boost your selection rank through completing up to three personal statements. To be eligible for an ATAR free offer, applicants must:
- Complete Year 12.
- Meet course prerequisites.
Applications open on 22 July and close on 16 September. You don't have to apply via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC), but I recommend you doing this incase you don't receive an offer based on your Year 11 results. UAC will assess you based on your Year 12 results. Applications will open late July.
Year 12 students can apply for selected University of Canberra courses via the Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS). Selection is based on Year 11 results and a school rating of your aptitudes. Successful applications will receive one of two types of conditional offers:
- Firm (ATAR free), or
- A lower guaranteed ATAR.
To apply for the program:
- From late July create your Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) account.
- Add at least one University of Canberra course to your UAC preference list.
- Complete the SRS application via your UAC account by 16 September 2024.
- Ask Sandie to complete the school rating form.
- Ensure the course you most prefer is your number 1 preference by 1 November 2024
- Offer outcomes will be released on 8 November 2024 and formal offers will be released on 23 December 2024.
